This week RotP is joined by a returning guest to take a look at two wildly different films. First up is Bruce Willis' smug ode to himself, Hudson Hawk! Then we take a look at Walter Hill's unique vision of another place and another time where there are Streets of Fire.

Gotta Ketchum All

     This week a Recurring Guest brings his love of horror and Josh Stewart to RotP. First, a semi-reformed thief has to steal a jewel from a family of rich assholes. He gets more than he bargained for when he also has to match wits with a magical serial killing carpenter in The Collector. After a narrow escape we board the train straight to Tylertown for our second Jack Ketchum adaption. Ray Pye is a mopey asshole in a town full of brain damaged incompetent cops which allows him to murder and eventually go on a fun kidnapping spree in The Lost. Finally we got to take tourist photos with the Godmonster of Indian Flats. I really don't know how to describe it... it's something... special? Sure, why not?

     All that and Tyler talks about salmon, Dave just can't with something, Kevin reveals intimate details of how his marriage works, and Craig shifts blame like a 1980s televangelist caught with his penis in the collection plate. Join us, won't we?

Bob Made a Prison

Dave has always been a listless, drifting, directionless, couch jockey, slacker until the day he decides to make a maze in his girlfriend's living room and his unreasonable desire to complete it no matter who he kills in the process. Are you ready to face the consequences when Dave Made a Maze? His maze is bigger on the inside, which isn't something that can be said about Dave. Either Dave... movie Dave is a bit of a useless ass and OUR Dave is a shallow hate machine but he's pretty.
Our very special guest takes a chance to spread the love of one of his favorites, Bob Gale's rightfully overlooked road movie Interstate 60. Is it a sweetly moralized film about a man finding himself or is it the hate filled rantings of a massively rich asshole who thinks because he made a classic that people would be suckered into watching his hateful shit because he calls in every favor he has on the books? Maybe it's both with a nice dollop of flat whimsy! Oh joy! At least there's a Ginger Oldman.
Finally we take a look at our first real Women-in-Prison movie. A venerable exploitation genre that we have woefully overlooked. That this trip turns out to be to one of the genre's best and most strongly girl power series is not at all a purposeful decision. This week a guest steps up to fill the large haggis shaped hole left in our hearts by a missing cohost, Tyler proves again there is only love in his heart for movies not even their mothers could love, Dave says "fuck" a lot, and Craig learns a few valuable lessons about life in the big house.

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream When It's Tyler's Turn to Pick

The week we take a look at a cult classic and a steamy indie drama. First up, we take a look at Below Her Mouth. It's the story of a fashion editor and the roofer she is irresistibly drawn to. Then the bottomless vat of pure sex named Clint Howard drives up in a van that could pass any health inspection to hand out some homemade frosty treats. He's the Ice Cream Man and no one will stop him from his appointed rounds. Not even Jan-Michael Vincent.
Also Dave gets two charitable donations returned, Craig adjusts to life outside the monastery, Kevin finally admits he has Ted Logan on his Pass List, and Tyler abides.

Episode 96- You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream When It's Tyler's Turn to Pick

Duck Duck Beowulf

This week is all about the Kurosawa remakes! First we spent time in the sorta family friendly world of A Bug's Life, Pixar's attempt at Seven Samurai. We take a strange trip through a deeply political dissent Kazakhstan take on Seven Samurai, Dikiy Vostock (aka The Wild East). At long last we take a good hard look at David Carradine in Dune Warriors, an ultra cheap version of Seven Samurai. Finally it's Antonio Banderas stretching his acting chops by playing a Middle Eastern poet banished to the Vikings in The 13th Warrior, a take on Beowulf. Yeah, one of these things is not like the others.
All that and Dave is broken, Tyler shocks everyone, Kevin gushes, and Craig joins a monastery somewhere in the Himalayas.

Kolchak Goes to the Movies

This week we help a dogged newsman hunt down a vampire on the early 70s Vegas Strip with Kolchak The Night Stalker. Then we supervise a field trip to the cinema for a group of less than serious third string superkids as Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. 
Also Craig returns to break Dave, Kevin reveals a shocking truth about his home life, and Tyler is indefatigable.

V for Veiny

   This week we take apart two deeply political films. First up, all is not idyllic in Jolly Olde England as a masked man plots blowing up Parliament but still finds time for the odd side murder and total reprogramming of a news station employee. Then a man is mutilated by a racist cop and medically experimented on in prison for three years. When he gets out a unique kind of revenge will be unleashed on those who wronged him but he will still find time for a new love and some light stalking of his ex.
   Join us for V for Vendetta and Welcome Home Brother Charles, won't we? Also Tyler waxes poetically about certain special performer, Kevin realizes exactly what sin he committed in a past life to deserve these things, Craig is stuck in UPS center somewhere in Ohio, and Dave rants like his life depended on it... which it does.
