First we dissect the score chasing classic arcade community and generally agree to hate a very special someone from King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. Then we fill our eyeballs with colorful, ultra fast, cartoon reality hybrid Speed Racer. Finally we fail a Turing test in order to better understand The Killing of a Sacred Deer.

We Crack Tyler Like a Dark Diamond

This week RotP sits down to discuss Peter O'Toole's last film, Diamond Cartel, Buddy Giovinazzo's drug drama, Life is Hot in Cracktown, and our second of three viewer picks, The Dark Crystal. We learn that Kazakhstan has an...um... interesting film scene, confirm that one of us really needs to watch The Wire, and force Tyler to watch his most hated film ever, a move that takes him as close to the breaking point as he has ever been. All that and so much more.

Delon Is A Dish (Best Served Blue)

This week- the ultra cool Alain Delon is a contract killer in Jean-Pierre Melville seminal neo-noir classic Le Samouraï. Richard Pryor, in a rare dramatic role, teams with Harvey Keitel and Yaphet Kotto to stick it to the man, their exploitative union, and face the consequences in Paul Schrader's directorial debut Blue Collar. Finally we take a viewer chosen stop in South Korea, thanks to Simon, to see Ok-bin Kim take a star making turn in Byung-gil Jung's frenetic action thriller The Villainess.

Quadruple Impact

This week we pay homage with all the full split, testicle punching, doppelganger madness we can handle with a four movie view of Jean-Claude Van Damme. We follow him through the jungle to a secret tournament in the 1920s for The Quest. Try chasing his serial killer original with a cat clone copy Repilcant. See double on a boat in Hong Kong Harbour which leave us reeling with a Double Impact. Finally we tired of basketball puns, secret technomonk enclaves, and mourn how amazing a top of his game JCVD remake of The Prisoner would be in Double Team. Plus- our latest contest ends and we discover a new way to hurt ourselves. All that and so much more Van Dammage than one person can handle in...

AntiTokyoPornStory

This week we embrace the wonder that is Japanuary with Sion Sono's 2016 Roman Porn revival entry Antiporno and the far more classy 1953 world cinema drama classic Yasujirō Ozu's Tokyo Story. That's not all, prepare from some Contest MADNESS with  Great Prizes of Wonder* for the winner.

*Might be hyperbole of the worst variety. They will get something and it will be most groovy but wonder is probably a stretch.
