Slashers Forsaken

This week we sit down with some seriously underappreciated slasher movies and ask "How you doin'?" in our best daytime talk show host styles. First we hear the sad and lonely song of the original slasher parody and closeted cult favorite Student Bodies. Then we hear the heartbreaking tale of murder, collegiate athletics, how not to run murder investigations, racism and jigsaw puzzles that has haunted the halls of Pieces memory. Next our youngest forsaken bloodbath, The Tripper, tells us about early 2000s politics and why Thomas Jane should have a statue in every major world city. Finally, we hear the sad tale of Eric Binford's decent in to a madness that the general public expects from every open horror fan, that consuming Fade to Black.

All that and some other stuff...

Episode 73- Slashers Forsaken

  1. Great analysis of FADE TO BLACK, it has long been one of my fave films (flawed as it is) and you guys got to the heart of why it works. No, it is not a slasher film, more of a tragic character study housed as a suspense thriller, with a touch of romanticism : Eric's love of the movies and his love of Marilyn. Great score and use of music as well.

    1. Thanks. It's been a favorite of mine for years. It's not really a slasher. But I felt it was close enough to being for the episode, it tends to get lumped in with them when the genre gets discussed. It's more in a strange subgenre with When a Stranger Calls and a handful of others that want to be a character drama but couldn't get financing without the horror scenes.
